Bio
Erica Dunham grew up in Seattle Washington, surrounded by music. She began piano at age 3 and went on to become classically trained in piano, cello, and guitar. At 12, she discovered Industrial music.
In 1998, at 17, she founded Unter Null, a project named after the self-deprecating phrase meaning “less than nothing.” Originally rooted in power noize, Unter Null released its self-titled debut in 2001, followed by ‘Neocide’ (2002). In 2005, Erica signed with Alfa Matrix and released ‘The Failure Epiphany’. She later released ‘Moving On’ and the B-side collection ‘Moved On’ (2010). Her side project, Stray, produced ‘Abuse by Proxy’ (2008) and ‘Letting Go’ (2012).
Erica eventually placed Unter Null on hiatus to pursue a culinary career, becoming a Sous Chef in 2009. Her life was also marked by significant personal challenges, including the loss of her music and instruments in a house fire on Christmas Eve 2008, caring for her mother following an Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2018 and the death of her father from heart failure in 2019.
After living in Rome, all over Germany, northern France, England, Portland Oregon, Hamburg Germany, back to Portland Oregon and later returning to Seattle Washington, Erica moved to West Hollywood California in May 2025 to continue her career and became an Executive Chef.
There, friendships with Krz Souls and Brendin Ross of Frontal Boundary inspired her return to music, leading to the creation of the EPs ‘Coming Up to Breathe’ and ‘You Made a Monster’. Through Krz Souls, she befriended Davin, a cinematic composer in film, television, and video game music, to support her live performances.
